Mission Statement

 

Hinckley Methodist Church seeks to serve God and the community, led and inspired by the Holy Spirit, proclaiming the Gospel to bring people to faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

 

Aims and Goals

 

Worship:

To increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love.

 

Learning and Caring:

To help people grow as Christians through mutual support, care and teaching.

 

Service:

To be good neighbours, challenge injustice and care for God's world.

 

Evangelism:

To make disciples of Jesus Christ.

 

 

 

 

Objectives

Worship:

Ø We will offer a variety of forms of worship appropriate to our community

Ø We will worship ecumenically and as a Circuit when appropriate opportunities arise

Ø We will encourage active participation in worship by all age groups

Ø Preachers and Worship Leaders will encourage church and individual discipleship 

  Learning and Caring:

Ø   We will provide a variety of small group meetings and encourage regular commitment to them

Ø We will develop and maintain effective pastoral oversight for members and the church community

Ø We will encourage individuals in regular and personal Bible study and prayer

Ø We will learn how to share our faith in the Good News of Jesus Christ through words and actions

 Service

Ø We will develop awareness of local issues and endeavour to respond appropriately, including work with other Christians in joint action

Ø We will be aware of our immediate neighbours and seek to serve them

Ø We will be a Fair Trade church

Ø We will maintain awareness of global issues and make appropriate reponses to issues of justice

Ø We will develop environmental awareness and good practice, learning from best practice 

Evangelism

Ø We will develop ways of engaging with our wider community

Ø We will develop a variety of means of expressing what it means to be the Church of Jesus Christ.

Ø We will learn to share our faith thoughtfully and sensitively with others
